Starr returns to Atlanta after the death of her boyfriend, Keylan, devastated as she's stripped of hope for a better way of living. She abandons her sexiness in Miami and returns to her thuggish style that her father, Herm, groomed her for. Avenging an act against her dad's drug business seems small until she allows her past love back into her life. This reinstates feelings of insecurity, jealousy, vindictiveness, loneliness, betrayal and a boatload of secrets.Reigning Starr is my third interaction with Shan's writing and I have to commend her latest endeavor. I noted potential with Rozalyn 2, but the structure, editing, and flow stood in need of great improvement. Upon completion of Reigning Starr, there is no mistaking that the author put much more time and effort in this read...it paid off! An enjoyable read, better developed characters, excellent execution of the scenes and the beautifully orchestrated finale was memorable as well as insightful. I loved the intensity as the curtains was pulled and the revelations fell forward reminiscent of a TV mystery show, even though this book didn't give an inkling of a suspenseful conclusion until the very end. Although I speak highly of immense improvement, I continue to challenge the author to put more effort in editing. A must read! 3.88

Man!!!!! I truly slipped on this book and the arthur. She is simply fabulous. I had read Loved by many and had this book on hold after reading newer material and I am so mad at myself. After reading this book I decided to get her Rosalyn series and anything else she has written including Loved by many 2. This story is about the love of family and deciet and disloyalty within it. Starr is a ganster girl she loses the love of her life in the game and comes home and runs wild until she gets back together with her ex Quadir and all hell breaks lose. Very good story.
I am a true Shan fan after the Rozalyn series. Here we find the spin off character Starr. In this book, Starr battles her own demons and struggles to stay alive in every way possible. I never would have thought that Starr got down like that. She battles whomever gets in her way with her wits, fists, razor or gun. But, reaching to the level of a Reigning Starr doesn't come easy. Along the way, Starr learns alot about herself and who her true friends really are? Buy the book because it does not disappoint and there were some interesting twists and surprises. Continue the good work Ms. Shan

Myss Shan did it again! What an awesome roller coaster ride!!! I thought I was hooked on the Rozalyn Series, but I loved Reigning Star. Just when I thought I knew what was going to happen Shan threw in some shockers. The story came together leaving no unanswered questions. The book was well written and kept me on the edge of my seat to the very end. We really got to see what type of hood chick Starr was, and it was good to see a day in the life of Starr! She held her own and was a no nonsense type of girl. Hats off to Author Shan. She really did her thing.
Loved loved this book! It was so interesting to get a closer look into the life of Starr after reading the Rozalyn series. Starr was off the chain!! She did not take any mess and she moest def could take care of herself. This book was a page turner and it grabs you in immediately! Poor Starr had so much coming her way and she had to think fast to stay one step ahead. Her family life was filled with secrets and my mouth was open when i found out the biggest secret of all. I DID NOT see that one coming! There were twist and turns everywhere in this book and i so hope there will be a part 2! Great job Myss Shan! Cant wait to get my hands on your next book!
This was a good read. I'm glad the author decided to give us Starr's story away from the Rozalyn drama.
Quad was foul!! Foul I say!! I was shocked at the final twist in this book between Starr, Quad and Neek. The author really threw me for a loop. It was a good one too. One that had my jaw on the floor!
The author kept it real with her story line on Fatima. Girl meets boy and does what she can to keep him by telling one of the biggest lies you can tell.
I read Rozalyn and Rozalyn 2 and while I like that series, I like Reigning Starr more. *Spoiler* There was one similarity that stuck out to me and that was that Roz and Starr were both raped while they were pregnant. *End of Spoiler* I was kind of like, "Nooooooooo, not again."
I really enjoyed this book, glad I didn't listen to some of the comments you did an excellent job. Your characters were on point just like in Roslyn I was very surprised with the out come I didn't see that coming. Great job🎆🎆🎆🎆🎇🎆💯
I've read Shan's "Rozalyn" series so when I heard "Reigning Starr" was out, I immediately bought it. Let me go ahead and say I was not disappointed!
We meet up with Starr about a year after the events of Rozalyn 2. Did you figure Starr would hide out after losing almost everything precious to her? Did you expect her to give up? Well, if that's what you expected to find in this book think again! Starr is on her A game after moving back to Atlanta. With her best friend Brian and ex-boyfriend Quad in tow, Starr is determined to come out on top this time. But what she doesn't know is that someone lurks in the shadows, someone that just might end her life as she knows it!
"Reigning Starr" was good from beginning to end! I finished this book in about two days and let me tell you, I barely wanted to put it down! Everything from the characters, the plot, the storyline...fabolous! The most shocking part of this story was the ending. I never saw it coming. "Reigning Starr" is sure to take you on a wide range of emotions. Author Shan's writing just gets better and better in each book that she releases. Can't wait for the next one. 5 stars!
