LEGACY Book 5 Mother Mine Volume 5 Warren Murphy Gerald Welch 9781944073053 Books
Legacy, Book 5: Mother mine is a great read following in the footsteps of the original Destroyer series by Sapir and Murphy. While this series is written by the pale piece of a pigs ear, Gerald Welsh, an "Honorary Master of Sinanju (whoever heard of such a thing... it was probably cut and pasted onto toilet paper by Remo), it is a fun read, fast-paced and he really gets into the characters to give us a great ride with the Sun On Jo tribe members, a splinter of the Korean town of Sinanju. Sunny Jo, Freya and Stone, who are Remo William's children, have taken up the family mantle and of course, are hired by CURE to take out American's baddies. While Freya is filled with the typical teenage anst, and Stone, who hasn't quite made up his mind if he will be a Master of Sinanju, go through their job responsibilities to kill the enemies of the State, we get to watch them grow up as the world's most deadliest kids. Personally, I can't wait to see when Freya starts dating and some guy tries to put a roofie in her white rice, or reading about Stone giving up his silly smoking habit, or how Mike, the bartender ended up with such a meaningful job, so I am quite interested to see where this series goes. Moreover, I can't wait to see Freya and Stone tell Daddy Remo all their wonderful deeds and he asks the ultimate fatherly question, "yes, but was your wrist straight when you did that move?" A great read and strongly recommended to all.Product details

LEGACY Book 5 Mother Mine Volume 5 Warren Murphy Gerald Welch 9781944073053 Books Reviews
I had felt that I had lost something in the last book. Luckily i found it in this book. Thanks
Great sequel to the Destroyer series looking forward to the new one soon
Great to see this still out there, thought the series was done for good.
For decades I have used unread "Destroyer" books as the ultimate foil against the mental anguish brought about by being stuck in long lines, or massive waiting rooms. I have actually enjoyed a DMV line, reveling in the adventures of Remo and Chuin, as opposed to my much more mundane reality. Was so excited to see this wonderful spin-off(?) series. I hope that there will be many many books in this series, as long lines and crowded waiting rooms lurk everywhere. This is many years overdue, but thank you so much Mr. Murphy for countless hours of happy distraction, leading to inevitable introspection.
So, #5 in this evolving series now sits on my . A long time fan of the original Destroyer Series I'm still getting to grips with this new generation. My personal benchmark for this series so far is #2 The Killing Fields. This one still doesn't hit that for me but interestingly I'm starting to get a real feel for this evolving universe that Warren and Gerald are creating. This was a pretty darn good addition to the series. More background on Stone, although my wish for the guy to toss the cigs and centre hasn't happened yet, so my irritation with that will have to continue, but not for too long please guys. Freya's storyline I found the most compelling. Thank goodness she's back to her old self. Wandering around for nearly two novels like a chicken with a broken wing was starting to do my head in. I really enjoyed this and am looking forward to #6. Bring it on guys.
Somewhat unusual in that Stone and Freya have each a storyline dealing with family. Remo Williams is their father with different women.
Great is back in her homeland, a chain of islands north of Scotland, participating in a ceremony that would restore her mother's honor. Stone wants to find his mother and is somewhat disappointed at what he finds.
A story of family and honor.
Outstanding.
This took me way back. Reading the early Destroyer books. It was good to go back and see Freya's ancestral home and the forces that shaped her mother. It wasn't nearly as rewarding for Stone as he did not connect with his past. It was still interesting to see how each dealt with their encounter. Some of the best Destroyer books were when Remo was depressed because he didn't have a family or a permanent home. They usually ended with him realizing how good he had it with the true familial love shared by him and his Little Father. This story shows the brother/sister bond between Stone and Freya.
