I discovered this little book in a Young Adult review group and it sounded interesting.While it is definitely not YA, this is a sweet romance that addresses the all too common issue of domestic violence.
Bianca finds herself involved with a man with a questionable past and their relationship takes an unexpected, but dangerous turn. She seeks refuge in her hometown, hoping a few days will give her the space she needs to decide what to do next.
The ensuing story brings her back to her roots and her first love.
The writing was okay, but in definite need of some further editing. (Not so much that you can't still enjoy the story, but still a lot of minor errors.)
While this type of story is not really my thing, particularly when I was expecting a YA style romance, I can appreciate it for what it is. If you enjoy a straightforward, romance that doesn't go overboard (al la FSOG,) you will enjoy this story. I would recommend it for a quick, thoughtful read.

"The Road That Leads You Home," is a thriller that follows a young women thrust into the very real realty of an abusive relationship. I enjoyed this story based on the simple fact of believability. It was well thought out and an interesting read. I would've probably given this story 3.5 stars, but that's not an option, thus the four star.
I found the lead character relatable, although she made a colossal mistake of falling for the wrong guy, she makes up for it in the end. The title is aptly named and remains true to the story line. I felt that Vanessa's writing style was easy to read and flowed nicely. This short read is recommendable for anyone looking for a thriller in the night.
